PCSC Announces 2015-16 End of Year Award Winners

The Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference (PCSC) announced its 2015-16 End of Year Award winners on Tuesday, May 23. Four student-athletes and three coaches from across the conference's 11 member schools were honored following a vote by the PCSC coaches.

This year, the conference named UC San Diego's Colleen Daley and Michael Cohn the Women's and Men's Swimmers of the Year, respectively, while Azusa Pacific's Kianna Mourer and Fresno Pacific's Duston Gragg earned top diving honors for the conference. All three of the Coaches of the Meet from PCSC Championships collected their second recognition of the year from the conference, with UC San Diego's Corrie Falcon and Daniel Perdew earning Women's and Men's Swim Coach of the Year, respectively, and Azusa's Cindy Adams picking up the Dive Coach of the Year nod.

A seven-time All-American, Daley helped guide the Tritons to a third-place finish at NCAA Division II Championships and their eighth consecutive PCSC title. At NCAAs, the senior posted a pair of top-five and school-record individual finishes in the 50 and 100 free and helped the Triton relays to a pair of runner-up showings and school records in the 400 and 800 free relays. Daley also claimed two individual titles in the 50 and 100 free and was a part of another five relay wins for the Tritons at PCSC Championships.
Cohn claimed Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive season after collecting two All-America honors at NCAA Championships while guiding the Triton men to a 17th-place showing. The junior also posted three school records at NCAAs and finished second in the 200 backstroke. Cohn was also named this year's PCSC Male Swimmer of the Meet at conference championships following an impressive showing at the meet that saw him collect three individual first-place finishes and 96 total points en route to UCSD's eighth straight men's title.
A two-time NCAA qualifier, Mourer represented the Cougars in the dive-in competition at the 2016 NCAA Division II championships in Indianapolis. The sophomore also collected her third and fourth PCSC diving titles this year after claiming her second straight one- and three-meter championships and was named Women's Diver of the Meet at the conference meet.
After claiming Men's Diver of the Meet honors at PCSC Championships, Gragg went on to compete in both the one- and three-meter events at NCAA Championships in Indianapolis. The senior secured a third-place showing in the three-meter at NCAAs, finishing just seven-tenths of a point out of second place and earning All-America honors for his performance. Gragg also finished ninth in the one-meter at the NCAA meet and claimed both events at conference championships.
The 2016 Dive Coach of the Meet at PCSC Championships, Adams saw two Cougar divers qualify for NCAA Championships in Mourer and freshman Rachel Johns. The pair both competed in the dive-in event at NCAAs after claiming a pair of titles at the conference meet. All-told, Adams' divers posted six top-10 finishes at PCSC Championships.
In five seasons for UCSD, Falcon has now collected three Coach of the Year awards after guiding the Triton women their eighth straight conference title and impressive third-place finish at NCAA Championships. Falcon helped 16 student-athletes earn a spot at national championships and saw her swimmers post 12 top-eight finishes and nine school records at the NCAA meet.
Perdew's first Coach of the Year honor comes in just his second season guiding the Triton men. Under his watch, UCSD claimed its eighth consecutive PCSC championship. At NCAAs, the Triton men posted a 17th-place showing with just four qualifiers who collected five top-eight finishes.
Together, Falcon and Perdew saw the UCSD swimmers post 21 school records and collect 37 All-America certificates.
Annually, the PCSC recognizes four student-athletes and three coaches for their outstanding achievements during the season. Awards are handed out to the top male and female swimmers and divers, as well as the top men's, women's and dive coaches. Nominees and winners are selected by the conference coaches.
