PCSC Athletes of the Week: Feb. 17
The Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 8-14 on Wednesday. Biola swept the weekly awards for the second time this season, with Kolya Vos securing honors for the women's, and Tanner Smith earning the men's award.

Kolya Vos, Biola: Vos performed lights-out at UNLV's First-Chance Invitational this past weekend! In the first of two sessions, Kolya swam the 200 Freestyle in a 1:52.58, which stands as the #1 time in the PCSC by almost 4-seconds, and 30th in the nation. Kolya's 100 split in the 200 would also serve as #1 in the PCSC with a 53.63 (to the feet). In the 2nd session, Vos got the opportunity to swim the 100 free, and she did not disappoint, touching in a 50.84. Her time serves as the top time in the PCSC by over 3 seconds, and #8 in the Nation! With only 15 minutes to warm down from her 100 Free, Vos anchored Biola's 400 Medley Relay to end the meet in a 51.38. Biola's relay touched in 3:54.01, which serves as the top time in the PCSC by over 10 seconds, and #18 in the nation. This is Vos' second weekly honor this season and the second of her career.

Tanner Smith, Biola: Smith led the Biola men in Las Vegas, with two standout individual races, and two relay appearances. Smith started the day with the 100 Backstroke, and recorded a Biola Team Record, and a personal best of 50.71. A time that stands as the #2 time in the PCSC. Smith continued his strong performance with a blistering 45.33 100 freestyle; top in the PCSC and #30 in the Nation. Smith also contributed to two Biola relays. He led off a school record breaking 200 medley relay with a 23.95, as the men touched in a 1:33.64; top in the PCSC, and #26 in the nation. Finally, in school record fashion again, the Biola men swam to a 3:04.00 in the 400 Free Relay, as Smith clocked the fastest split of 44.63. The relay stands as top in the PCSC, and #19 in the Nation. This is Smith's second weekly honor this season and third of her career.
The PCSC includes institutions from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). All three divisions of the NCAA are represented. Each week, the PCSC coaches nominate and vote on the Athletes of the Week in seven categories: NCAA Division I women, Division II men and women, Division III men and women and NAIA men and women.
