Simpson Competes At NAIA Collegiate Championships
FORT PIERCE, FL. -This past week, Simpson men's and women's swimming shined at the Collegiate Championships in Fort Pierce, FL.
On the men's side Chadd Maurer led the way with two 3rd place finishes and a 4th place finish. He broke his own school records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle and has the top times in the conference in the 50 and 100 going into next month's conference championships.
The men placed 4th in the 800 free relay, 4th in the 200 free relay, 3rd in the 200 and 400 medley relay and 5th in the 400 free relay. The men now have the top conference time in all but the 400 free relay (2nd).
Overall, the men took 5th place over many perennial NAIA top ten teams.
On the women's side Taryn Monnot led the way with three lifetime bests in the 100, 200 and 500 free and now has three new school records.
The women placed 6th overall.
