PCSC Athletes of the Week: Mar. 24

The Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Mar. 15-21 on Wednesday. With many PCSC athletes competing in recent NCAA and NAIA National Championship competition, a few athletes had standout performances to set school records and earned national recognition as well. For the women, Biola's Meghan Tolman earned Swimmer of the Week and Azusa Pacific's Amy Crayne earned Diver of the Week. On the men's side, both Fresno Pacific's Iskender Baslakov and Simpson's Chadd Maurer have earned Swimmer of the Week honors.

WOMEN

Meghan Tolman, Biola: Tolman competed at the NCAA DII National Championships this past week. She raced in the 100 Breaststroke, where she was seeded 17th with a 1:03.20 coming into the meet. In the Prelims session, Tolman crushed her own Biola school record, breaking it by over a second, touching the wall in a 1:02.18, and qualifying her for the 3rd seed going into Finals. In the Finals, she finished just .02 off of her entry time for the meet, which resulted in an 8th place podium finish making her the first NCAA All-American in Biola Athletics history. Her 11 points scored in that event aided her other two teammates in securing a 14th place finish as a team in Biola's second-ever eligible NCAA National Championships meet. This is Tolman's first weekly honor of the season.
