Sam has persevered through a tremendous amount of loss this season. In just his 2nd competition performance of the season due to losing his father during the Fall, Sam had a breakout performance. Sam swam a conference-leading 1000 Free time (which would have also won the conference last season). Sam also finished 2nd in the 500 Free (narrowly out-touched by his teammate) with a 4:36.29. Sam's 500 Free time is now the 2nd fastest time in the conference. Sam also holds the 3rd fastest Mile in the conference.
