2025 Championships Day 2 Recap
MONTEREY PARK, CA – The excitement continued on Day 2 of the 2025 PCSC Championships, with more record-breaking performances and intense competition. Teams returned to the East Los Angeles College Swim Stadium on Thursday morning for another thrilling day of action.
The day began with preliminary rounds in the Women’s and Men’s 100-yard Butterfly, followed by the Women’s and Men’s 400-yard Individual Medley and 200-yard Freestyle events. After the swimming preliminaries, divers took to the pool for the final rounds of the Women’s 3-meter Diving and Men’s 1-meter Diving events, where four athletes from Biola University reached the podium.
The evening session featured the highly anticipated finals, including the Women’s and Men’s 200-yard Freestyle Relays, individual event finals, and concluded with the Women’s and Men’s 400-yard Medley Relays.
Current Team Standings (Through Event 22)
At the halfway point of the championships, the competition intensified, with shifts in the team rankings. However, CSU East Bay and UC Santa Cruz maintained their positions atop the leaderboards.
Women’s Team Standings:
CSU East Bay Pioneers and Azusa Pacific Cougars maintained their positions as first and second place with 652 and 592 points respectively. Biola University Eagles moved up two spots to third place with 498 points. UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks round out the Top-5 with 471 and 432 points respectively.
Men’s Team Standings:
The Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz maintained their dominance on top with 806.5 points while Biola Univesity moved up to second place with 658 and the Golden Eagles of CUI are in third place with 584 points. The Sunbirds of Fresno Pacific University and the Mustangs of The Master’s University round out the Top-5 with 559.5 and 392 points respectively.

Looking Ahead: Day 4 Preview
The final day of the championships promises more high-stakes competition, with swimmers and divers set to compete in the Women’s and Men’s 100-yard Freestyle, 200-yard Backstroke, Women’s and Men’s 200-yard Breaststroke, 400-yard Relays, and the final distance event of the Women's and Men's 1650-yard Freestyle. The diving portion will feature the Women’s 1-meter and Men’s 3-meter finals.
A special Senior Recognition Ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. PST to honor the graduating athletes for their dedication and achievements.
