This past weekend at the Pioneer Classic hosted by Grinnell College, Delaney Cowan placed 2nd in the 400 IM (4:50.66) which ranks her 20th in PCSC and 3rd in 200 Fly (2:15.86) with ranks 30th in PCSC and Top 25 in the NAIA.  She also had season-best times in both the 200 IM (2:20.56) and 100 Fly (1:03.49).

Male Swimmer of the Week

Rion Kunimoto, Junior, Soka University

Rion deserves recognition not for his place at the Pioneer Classic hosted by Grinnell College but for the fact that after 3 years on the team, he was finally able to break 23 in the 50 Free (22.68) and 50 in the 100 Free (49.68). Rion has been trying to accomplish this goal since getting close the previous year. He also swam for the first time ever in the 500 Free and 200 Fly.

Male Freshman of the Week

Keegan Nichols, Soka University

Keegan, participating in his first major competition for Soka at the Pioneer Classic hosted by Grinnell College, Keegan swam 54.07 in the 100 Fly (Season Best) and his first 200 Fly ever (2:08.49) which placed him 6th at the meet.  In addition, Keegan was a key participant in all of our relay swimming splits, which were faster than his races.

Female Diver of the Week

Chloe Dobie, Freshman, Concordia University Irvine

Chloe competed in two meets this weekend, putting up solid results against mostly D1 competition.  On Friday, she dove at the Riverside Collegiate Invitational against UNLV, CBU, SDSU, Biola, and Chapman.  She finished 13th in the 1m event ahead of two divers from Biola, one each from Chapman and SDSU as she experimented with some new dives.

This is Chloe’s third Diver of the Week honors of the season!
