PCSC Athletes of the Week: Nov. 9
The Pacific Coast Swim Conference has announced the PCSC Swimmer & Divers for the week of November 3-9. Athletes from Biola and Pepperdine comprise this week's award winners.
MEN
NCAA DII Swimmer
Donatus Onu -- Biola
Onu helped put points on the board for Biola in the weekend meet with La Verne and Redlands. The freshman was on top the standings in the 1000 Free (10:09.42) and placed third in the 500 Free (4:58.22) behind another Eagle. This is Onu's first weekly honor and one of three for Biola this season.
WOMEN
NCAA DI Swimmer
Olivia Kayye -- Pepperdine
Kayye took first place in four events in the Waves victory over LMU. The senior took home individual wins in the 500 Free (5:17.60), 100 Breast (1:07.20), 200 Medley Relay (1:50.01), and anchored in the 200 Free Relay (24.94 Split). Her time for the 100 Breast is the top time in the PCSC. This is Kayye's first weekly honor and the third for Pepperdine this season.
NCAA DII Swimmer
Kolya Vos -- Biola
The sophomore helped guide Biola to wins over La Verne and Redlands over the weekend. Vos finished with three first place wins and was part of a second place relay team. She won the 100 Free (53.4), 200 Free (1:58.85), and the 400 Free Relay (3:40.68). This is Vos' third weekly honor and one of three for Biola this season.
The PCSC includes institutions from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). All three divisions of the NCAA are represented. Each week, the PCSC coaches nominate and vote on the Athletes of the Week in seven categories: NCAA Division I women, Division II men and women, Division III men and women and NAIA men and women.
