PCSC Athletes of the Week: Dec. 7

The Pacific Coast Swim Conference has announced the PCSC Swimmer & Divers for the week of December 1-7. Fresno Pacific and SOKA each were represented with two athletes apiece for this weeks honors.

Athletes of the Week

MEN

NCAA DIVISION II Swimmer

Janek Blalecki -- Fresno Pacific

Blalecki had a strong performance against Division I competition at the Fresno State Invitational. The freshman finished second in the 200 Free (1:39.96) and 100 Free (45.40), and fifth in the 50 Free (20.96). He currently ranks first in the PCSC for the 100 Free, and second in the 50 and 200 Free. For relay events, Blalecki was part of the 200 and 400, that ranks top amongst all PCSC teams. This is Blalecki's first weekly honor and one of three for Fresno Pacific this season.

NAIA Swimmer

Anthony Stewart -- SOKA

Stewart led the Lions at the Loggers Invitational, hosted by Pudget Sound. The first year swimmer for SOKA swam season best times in three individual events: 100 Free (48.52), 100 Fly (52.19), 50 Free (22.46). He also participated in the 50 Fly (22.88). This is Stewart's first weekly honor and one of two for SOKA this season.

WOMEN

NCAA DIVISION II Swimmer

Remy Gordillo – Fresno Pacific

Gordillo swam season bests in her performances against DI teams at the Fresno State Invitational. She finished in the top five in the 1650 Free (18:50.25), top ten in the 500 Free (5:28.92) and 200 Free (2:00.41), and top 15 in the 100 Free (57.01). This is Gordillo's first weekly honor and the third for Fresno Pacific this season.

NAIA Swimmer

Sophia Greco – SOKA

At the Logger Invitational, Greco participated in three events. The senior was part of the 200 IM Relay (2:21.66) team for the Lions. She also took part in the 200 Back (2:13.18) and the 100 Fly (1:01.76). This is Greco's first weekly honor and one of two for SOKA this season.

The PCSC includes institutions from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). All three divisions of the NCAA are represented. Each week, the PCSC coaches nominate and vote on the Athletes of the Week in seven categories: NCAA Division I women, Division II men and women, Division III men and women and NAIA men and women.
