On Saturday, October 21, 2023, The Master's University swim team hosted a dual meet against Concordia University Irvine. The men won 11 events and set two team records on their way to victory over the NCAA Division II Golden Eagles.
Desmond won two individual events: 100 Breast and 200 Breast. For the 100 Breast, Desmond clocked in 57.54 which is the top time in the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference (PCSC) and is the #2 time Nationally for the NAIA. In 200 Breast, Desmond set a team record by posting 2.08.62 which is the top time in PCSC and is also the #3 time Nationally for NAIA. He was also the lead-off for the winning 400 freestyle relay.
"Really proud of the team today and being able to get this historic win for the program," said TMU Head Coach Curren Bates. "Being able to compete at this level on our home turf meant a lot and really speaks to how much depth the team has this year."
Up next for Desmond and his Mustangs teammates is the Wyatt Balman Invitational hosted by SOKA University on November 11.
