Before the final relays began, the Lions of Loyola Marymount University put on a special presentation to honor their coaches, Bonnie Adair, and Erik Matheson, along with their current and past swimmers to bring awareness of six athletic programs being cut by the LMU athletic department at end of this school year which included their swim and dive program. Many alumni attended the finals to partake in this special presentation. In honor of the LMU Lions, the male swimmers of the Concordia University Irvine swam an exhibition 400-yard freestyle relay wearing the LMU swim caps and won first place.
