Female Swimmer of the Week
Brooklyn Dressel, Junior, CSU East Bay
Brooklyn started off the season on a high note for the Cal State East Bay Pioneers. Brooklyn won both her individual swims 50 Free (24.21) and the 100 Free (52.24) in dominating fashion, while also being a part of the winning 200 Medley Relay (23.88 free) and 400 Free Relay (52.09 leadoff leg). Both individual swims are currently ranked inside the Top 5 in all of Division II. These races played an integral part in defeating the University of Pacific for the first time in school history.
Male Swimmer of the Week
Jayden Hernandez, Junior, Concordia University Irvine
Jayden had a great start to the year at the PCSC Relay Meet on Saturday. He was part of four victorious CUI relays and led off the record-setting 3x100 Butterfly Relay in a very quick 50.69, which is #6 in the nation in NCAA D2. He recorded 21.0 and 47.0 50 and 100 freestyle times this season.
Female Freshman of the Week
Tehani Kong, CSU East Bay
Tehani started off her college career on a high note. She won the 100 butterfly (57.77) and placed 2nd behind conference champion and teammate, Brooklyn Dressel in the 50 Free (24.69). She was also a part of the winning 200 Medley Relay (25.47 fly) and 400 Free Relay (53.83). Her 100 fly ranks within the Top 10 of Division II and 50 Free is currently 15th.
Male Freshman of the Week
Dylan Crane, The Master's University
Dylan helped contribute to our success at the PCSC Relay Meet with big splits in the 4x200 relay at 1:45 a monster 46.4 to anchor the 4x100 medley and a 47.6 on the winning 4x100 free relay.
