2024 PCSC Championships Day 1 Recap

MONTEREY PARK, CA -- The four-day 2024 Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Championship got underway on Wednesday, February 14 in a record-breaking fashion as multiple school records fell on Day 1 of the competition. Student-athletes from fifteen universities in NCAA Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA gathered at East Los Angeles College Swim Stadium to compete for the championship title.

The events on the first day of the championships were Women’s 3-meter Diving and Men’s 1-meter Diving, Women's and Men’s 1000-yard Freestyles, Women's and Men’s 200-yard Medley Relays, and Women's and Men’s 800-yard Freestyle Relays along with swimmers doing time trials in different events including 100-yard Individual Medley.

On the men’s side, ten schools began competing for the title being defended by Biola University Eagles who are in first place with 149 points. Only 6 points separate the first and second place in current standings through Event 8, and the Banana Slugs of the University of California, Santa Cruz are in second place with 143 points. The Sunbirds of Fresno Pacific University is in third place while the Golden Eagles of Concordia University Irvine and the Mustangs of The Master's University are tied for fourth place with 92 points each.

On the women’s side, last year’s championship runner-up Azusa Pacific University Cougars swam their way into first place with 294 points followed by the lady Eagles of Biola University scoring 235 points. The competition is very tight this year where only three points separate third through fifth places and only six points separate seventh through ninth place standing.

Seven teams posted the recaps of Day 1. To read about each school's recap, click on the name of the school:
